Adm. Pierre Januário, 06/06/2014
In recent conversations with entrepreneurs, managers, administrators
and students, I heard some comments about the unions, about the organization of
workers and professionals who have left me surprised. Comments like: "I
hate unions, any union ...", "I do not want to participate in this
discussion in the union ...", "unions are good for nothing ..."
among other phrases in this style.
To better explain my thinking I'll use an analogy with the history of
the origin of the human species. We have two lines of theories about our
appearance on earth creationists and evolutionists, I'll follow this time, the
line of evolutionists, however without despising and respecting the argument of
the creationists.
Whereas the second theory we came of an evolutionary process, we are in
the ground at about 70 million years, if we consider the evolution of hominids
to homo sapiens we are inhabiting the planet earth approximately 100,000 years,
ie the short time we were completely wandering, walked in the woods, we used
stone and bone tools, hunting lived alone.
This situation has been changing and evolving, both for our food (we
ate meat), our brain (which helped us in our perception of the phenomena of
nature, rain, sun, wind, day, night), our thumb (which allowed building tools
), and by our ability to organize. This is a key word in the process of human
evolution, the organization.
We arranged in bands, tribes, caste, in families, in cities, states and
nations .... The organization made us realize that we could do more together
than alone, that together we could overcome many challenges and hazards of the
environment, that together we could live longer and better.
Whole group, without exception, in a democratic regime, has the right
to organize. In the current climate we have several public and private
"organizations" defending their interests, such as Trade Associations
(virtually all municipalities in Brazil), Industrial Federations (present in
all states), Trade Unions (various segments) and National Confederations such as
Trade, Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC), Agriculture (CNA) and Industries
(CNI). I understand that all are legitimate and defend their respective
interests, just do not understand why the ire of some against unions and
workers' organizations.
I get concerned when the various social and economic classes, from
different segments are organized, are understood and charge their rights and
interests and the workers are the words of disparagement and desire to
disarticulation. I wonder why? Why do the other groups can be organized and the
workers do not?
The working capital ratio, boss and employee always presented conflicts
and problems, the need for leadership and dialogue are essential for the growth
and development of people and organizations condition, otherwise we would still
be working 18 hours a day, seven days a week, with labor, slave labor or
semiescrava, including children in unsanitary factories, no security, no
vacation, no pension or other rights that are naturally present today.
History shows that any radicalization of one side or the other is not
in the short or medium term no gain to the community, always getting a group
with privileges that undermine the whole society. The search for balance and
dialogue is necessary.
It is also fact that only the free market and capitalism no control
instrument has proved cruel for society, cite cases of Bolivian workers
exploited in clandestine clothing in Sao Paulo, or children being used in the
production of coal or farmers conditions of slavery on farms in the Southeast,
North and Northeast of Brazil, I add here the case of numerous killings of
union leaders.
It is a struggle of equals, on one side we have the system, the media
and the capital, on the other we have the voice, the ideas, the sufferings and
needs of workers ... however we need to keep the dialogue channel. I understand
not being democratic, fair and ethical ferocity against the organization of
professionals, we need to balance the scales, in an orderly, intelligent,
innovative and consistent, with the certainty of finding the best alternatives,
always through dialogue.
One must remember that the achievements of today are reflections of
struggle, collections, CLAIMS, much dialogue and sometimes, when you can not
evolve, then fit strategies and stronger actions, without losing sight of
respect for human beings to organizations and democracy. It is up to the
unions, the organization of professionals, maintaining the dialogue between the
various parties responsible leadership, the quest for balance in rights and
duties, professional representation at different levels of care and the pursuit
of the interests of the categories.
As President of the Association of Administrators of Maranhão and
registered administrator to invite all students and professionals to
participate in discussions about the defense of our interests and meeting our
needs.
Together we are stronger.
